Medicare Rebates and Health Insurance
Currently there is no Medicare rebate available for Counselling and Therapy services.
Organisations representing counsellors and psychotherapists continue to negotiate with the Federal Government about this matter.

No Medicare rebate means that you do not need to have a Mental Health Care Plan from a doctor or have a clinical diagnosis. You can choose your own therapist and engage in the type of treatment that suits your needs.
​
My fee is less than the Medicare gap that some health practitioners charge.
Some health insurance funds offer a small rebate for Counselling.
